Ai Yazawa (矢沢あい Yazawa Ai) is the author of Gokinjo Monogatari as well as its sequel, Paradise Kiss, and many other smaller works.
She made her manga artist debut in Ribon magazine with "Ano Natsu", and continued to serialized many of her early works in it, including Gokinjo.
In 2009, contracted an illness, which put Nana on hold. She has returned from the hospital, but as of late it is still unknown if Nana will return.

Early life[]
Ai Yazawa had studied at a fashion school, after high school, but dropped out a year later. She began writting, and drawing manga in 1985, she wrote more than ten series for Ribon, which were published by Shueisha.
Gokinjo Monogatari[]
Yazawa's Gokinjo Monogatari was serialized in Ribon magazine from 1995 to 1998, right after Yazawa's previous series, Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai. Gokinjo was made into a anime shortly after the manga was serialized, and aired from 1995 to 1996. Yazawa wrote an artbook titled, Welcome to the Gokinjo World featuring many artworks from Gokinjo.
Later life[]
In June, 2009, Yazawa contracted an illness, which she was hospitalized for, putting her manga, Nana on hold. She returned from the hospital in April, 2010, but it is still unknown if she will continue writting, Nana.[1]
